React

Response, curves, audio influence, and modulation.

The React tab sets how analysis becomes motion. It does not change which look is on the stage. Open it from the inspector, or press M to cycle the response waypoint.

Response

Response is a continuous slider. The header shows the nearest waypoint: Glide, Natural, Snap, or Feral. Natural is the default.

Glide uses long attacks and slow releases. Snap fires on every transient. Feral is near-instant and fully auto-gained.

Press M to jump to the next waypoint.

Smoothness

Smoothness adds damping on bands and signals. It slows flicker. Onset detection still follows the Response axis.

Beat

Beat scales kick, phase, and tempo-gate strength. At 1, the Beat signal is full. At 0, onset impulse does not move the picture.

Curve

The Curve editor remaps band and RMS transfer.

  1. Pick a channel: All, a band, or Rms.
  2. Drag the points.
  3. Click Reset to restore the default curve.

A per-channel curve lets a vocal band hit harder than a sub band.

Audio influence

Looks expose per-knob audio amounts. Audio influence lists those knobs.

Group by source clusters knobs by the band or signal that drives them. Each slider is a preset audio control. Amount 0 means silence leaves that knob at its structure default.

Modulation

Every modulatable slider has a modulation badge. Click it to open Modulate.

Modes:

  • Off — no routing
  • LFO — a periodic oscillator
  • Audio — a live band or signal

LFO Shape: Sine, Triangle, Saw ↑, Saw ↓, Square.

Duration: Seconds or Beats, plus a slider.

Range: min, max, and reverse.

Audio Input lists every band and signal: Level, Energy, Tone, Flux, Punch, Beat, Phase, Tempo gate, Tempo, and the seven bands.

Sensitivity scales the audio input.

Envelope stacks a one-shot ramp on LFO or audio:

  1. Click Add.
  2. Click Armed / Disarmed.
  3. Click Set key and press a key.
  4. Set From / To.
  5. Edit the curve.

Remove deletes the envelope. Reserved keys show an override warning.

The Modulation group on this tab lists active routings. Click a row to jump to that control. Clear removes one routing. Clear all removes every routing.

What persists

Response, smoothness, beat, curves, band ranges, and every modulation routing store in console prefs.

Response waypoints

Frequency bands

Mid500 to 1600Core mids. Presence and melodic body. Mean FFT magnitude in this band. Auto-gained and enveloped. Default 500 to 1600 Hz.
H-Mid1600 to 4000High-mids. Attack, intelligibility, and snare crack. Mean FFT magnitude in this band. Auto-gained and enveloped. Default 1.6 to 4 kHz.
High4000 to 9000Treble sparkle and hi-hat body. Mean FFT magnitude in this band. Auto-gained and enveloped. Default 4 to 9 kHz.
Air9000 to 16000Air and brilliance. Mean FFT magnitude in this band. Auto-gained and enveloped. Default 9 to 16 kHz.

Signal channels

SignalWhat it reads
LevelBroadband loudness from waveform RMS, not the spectrum. Auto-gained and enveloped into 0 to 1.
EnergySlow follow of Level. Tracks build-ups and drops, not individual hits.
ToneSpectral centroid on a log axis. 0 is dark and bass-heavy. 1 is bright. Weighted average of FFT bin frequencies.
FluxHow fast the spectrum changes. Sum of rising FFT bins, scaled and smoothed. High on shimmer and cuts.
PunchTransient weight. Short-window waveform RMS above a slow baseline. Hits fire without a wait on Level.
BeatOnset impulse. Spikes toward 1 when spectral flux clears an adaptive threshold, then decays. Scaled by Beat.
PhaseSawtooth 0 to 1 across each estimated beat while the bass tempo gate is open. Frozen when the low end is quiet, so wraps do not free-run.
Tempo gate1 while sub and bass stay above the tempo threshold with hold. Else 0. Arms beat-phase and tempo lock.
TempoEstimated BPM from bass-gated onsets, or your manual or tap override. Raw BPM. Not normalized to 0 to 1.
