Handbook

01 · Get started

Start here

Open the console and run the first session.

Open /drift in a current desktop browser with WebGL2. If the host set CONSOLE_ACCESS_KEY, open /drift?access=<key> one time. The browser stores an httpOnly cookie named nd-console-access. Without that key, the route stays open for local work.

Sign-in through /auth/login sets an nd-session cookie. That cookie is not a gate for the console today.

First session

  1. Click Choose source in the top bar, or drop an audio file on the desk.
  2. Pick File for a track, or Mic for a live input.
  3. Open the Looks library on the left. Click a card.
  4. Play the track with Space or the play button.
  5. Open React if the picture feels slow or too sharp.
  6. Open Output when you need a second display or a video file.

The stage overlay says Get started until a source exists. Use Choose file or Open mic there. After the first source, a banner offers Looks, React, Output, or Dismiss.

What stays on this machine

File, mic, and line-in analysis run in the browser. The console does not upload tracks, stems, or microphone audio. Scenes, looks, media, and MIDI maps live in IndexedDB on this browser. Export a project file when you need a copy you can move.

What you need

Use a current desktop browser with WebGL2. Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on a machine with a GPU that can decode media. MIDI needs a desktop browser that implements Web MIDI. Phone layout works, but a live set is easier on a wide screen.

Public beta

The public beta is free and limited. The runtime desk uses Studio rules: video export is on, output stays at 1920 × 1080, and AI Look Studio stays hidden. See Limits and plans for the caps.

Next

Read Desk layout for every panel. Or skip to Audio source if a track is already loaded.
